Babies with eczema have a 1 in 3 chance of developing food allergies. Infants with eczema should be introduced to allergens such as peanut, milk, and egg as early as 4 months of age. Ready. Set. Food! packets can be added to a bottle of breast milk, formula, or mixed with solid foods.
This recommendation is based on the 2020 USDA-HHS Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee Report released in July 2020 which recommends “introducing peanut and egg in an age-appropriate form, in the first year of life (after age 4 months).”
