Babies should not have cow's milk as a replacement for breast milk or formula until they are 1 year old because of the risk of an iron deficiency. This is due to the fact that cow's milk does not contain as much iron as breast milk or formula, and it is not absorbed as well. However, small amounts of cow's milk are acceptable based on current medical guidelines (for example, cheese and yogurt, even though they are made almost entirely from cow's milk, are often recommended as first foods for babies).
Ready, Set, Food! contains a very small amount of cow's milk (only 1.5 grams of milk protein per day), equivalent to less than 1 teaspoon of yogurt or cow’s milk. We also have products that do not contain cow’s milk here.
