Bamba only introduces peanut and doesn't introduce other common food allergies such as egg and cow's milk (both of which are difficult to avoid). Ready, Set, Food! introduces peanut, egg, and milk. Peanuts make up only 25% of childhood food allergies, while egg and cow’s milk make up another 55% of childhood food allergies. Bamba can be effective for introducing peanuts, but it is two-thirds fat and is high in saturated fat because it contains palm oil. Ready, Set, Food! uses ingredients from real foods that are organic, non-GMO, and contain no artificial additives and no added sugar.
The newly released 2020 USDA-HHS Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee Report recommends “introducing peanut and egg in an age-appropriate form, in the first year of life (after age 4 months).”.
