Bamba only introduces peanut and doesn't introduce other common food allergies such as egg and cow's milk. Ready, Set, Food!'s Stage 1 & 2 introduces peanut, egg, and milk, and does so in pre-measured, allergist-recommended doses.
Peanuts make up only 25% of childhood food allergies, while egg and cow’s milk make up another 55% of childhood food allergies. Bamba can be effective for introducing peanuts, but the product is two-thirds fat and is high in saturated fat because it contains palm oil. Ready, Set, Food! is just real, organic food. It uses ingredients from real foods that are organic, non-GMO, and contain no artificial additives and no added sugar.
Stage 1 can be introduced as early as 4 months of age in the baby's bottle of formula or breast milk. Start Stage 2 after Stage 1 for continued exposure to peanut, egg, and milk for at least 3 to 6 months, or until your baby is ready for solids. Stage 3 is the recommended when your little one is consistently eating solids, and will expand from the top 3 allergens -- peanut, egg, milk - and will include a total of 9 allergens -- peanut, egg, milk, cashew, almond, walnut, sesame, soy, wheat - which make up 90% of the most common baby food allergies.
Just as a reminder, the newly released 2020 USDA-HHS Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee Report recommends “introducing peanut and egg in an age-appropriate form, in the first year of life (after age 4 months).”. See FDA Qualified Health Claim at the bottom of the page.
