We strive to buy all organic ingredients. In order for ingredients to be independently certified as organic, the supplier can only rely on natural substances and physical, mechanical, or biologically based farming methods to the fullest extent possible. (1) Therefore, no glyphosates can be used. We also verify post-production that our products do not contain harmful levels of glyphosates or other chemicals by conducting testing with independent third-party labs.
Glyphosate is an herbicide commonly used in agriculture and thus has an impact on our food system. Certain trace amounts of pesticides, or pesticide chemical residues, may remain in or on some crops after they’re harvested. (2) According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), residues of glyphosate on any food item are safe for consumers if they comply with established tolerances. (3) These levels are established by the EPA and monitored and regulated by the FDA.
